Biography Felicithas Arndt

Born in 1992 in Offenbach aM, Germany. After graduating from high school, she spent several months abroad in China and Malaysia, then studied Sinology and Southeast Asian Studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In 2014 she moved to the Offenbach University of Art and Design, studying ceramics, printmaking and painting with Merja Herzog-Hellstén, Prof. Klaus Hesse and Prof. Gunter Reski. In 2017 she took part in an excursion and exhibition with Prof. Klaus Hesse in the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen/China, where she began working with porcelain for the first time. As a scholarship holder, she studied the nature-related imagery of traditional Chinese painting at the renowned Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chongqing/China. Since 2021 she has been working as a freelance artist and has worked for the well-known Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur, Frankfurt and the Majolika Manufaktur Karlsruhe, among others. In 2023, she was a finalist in the prestigious international Faenza Prize for contemporary art ceramics with her work "Madrepora" (Fig. sr). The focus of her artistic work is the confrontation between nature and artistic nature, organic-looking drawings and ceramics, attempts to dissolve the Anthropocene.
